Report:
Last week in April to May 3 saw the last of early spring fishing conditions this year. Caught a few with princes, stones, and woolly buggers, best with the "Little Black Stonefly" a Hellgrammite/Stone type fly. Great weather in the valley, but windy this weekend in the pass. Water flow is in full spring runoff it started Monday last week and should reach peek this week. Flow rates should start to come down by mid June. I went to some of the high mountain lakes and beaver ponds that did have access only to find that the spring thaw had broken several of the natural damns. By mid June there should be some good high mountain Brookie streams available for fishing. Most of the lakes are inaccessible for now with snow pack. -A good sign for late spring and summer conditions. Fox Creek store has geared up for the season, don't for get to see them. They are keeping me updated as the waters move on.
