Report:
Hello from the not so wintery Conejos River. Just a note for those wanting to do some planning this spring and early summer for fly fishing. The snowpack continues to be low and it appears that we will not catch up before it gets warmer. This means that the spring and early summer hatches that we often times do not get to fish on the Conejos will be wonderful. We may get to fish almost the entire spring and early summer without the big runoff. Of course we are wanting snow and or a wet summer but this lower snowpack will create an opportunity for us to have a great early start. These months on the river are uncrowded, productive, and beautiful. The bigger hatches of the year, like the big Pteronarcys Stonefly, make this an opportunity to catch the bigger fish in the river on a dry!!! For a more detailed report on snowpack, fishing, and the rivers you are welcome to call or visit the website.
