06/09/2005 Conejos River Fly Fishing Report Detail
Date:06/09/2005
Reported By:Conejos River Anglers
Email: harp329@direcway.com
Daytime Temp:77
Weather:Sunny
Report:
The lower Conejos got an extra dosage of water being released from Platoro Reservoir, which it did not need, and the fishing and water color have gotten worse. Did catch several nice fish on a #4 Conehead Kiwi Olive Muddler in an hour of fishing below Mogote Campground but the fishing was tough. Water temp 55 degrees. The Conejos may be another week or 10 days away for some more consistent fishing and clearer water. The Los Pinos has cleared (at Osier) and flows heading down daily. The La Jara is fishing well especially in the upper portion of the river. One of the guides caught a 22" 5lb Brown in the upper river yesterday. Jon Harp
