Weather:Sunny
Report:
Windy but calm in mornings and evening.
The river is still high and coming down(1250cfs), good news is the fish are actively hitting nymphs on the river over all. Be prepared for deep water runs. Some dry fly towards Platoro (550cfs), I have been keeping to small streams and lakes just to stay safe (buddy system is best if your going for the big water). The big water is movig fast and river bottom shifts make wading difficult. March browns are on the lakes mixed with Pale Morning duns and hoppers 14-16. The mornings have been good untill the wind picks up and again in the afternoon. Brookies are awake and feeding on the ponds and streams. I have not fished the Platoro area yet should have a good report after the following week. Getting ready for the big hatch when water flows come down on the big river. Should start up June 20-25 I expect.
Trajillo Medows/Los Pinos is keeping me happy for now several fish on fly and nymph 12-18 trout mixed.
